Storage Specifics
Here is how we calculate storage fees on bi-monthly invoices (2 invoices per month).
1. The Calculation Rule: Weekly Accumulation
Storage is calculated on a weekly basis. The unit displayed on the invoice corresponds to the number of slots occupied multiplied by the number of weeks included in the billing period.
Typical Example: If you store 2 pallets during a 2-week period, the invoice will show a quantity of 4 units (2 pallets × 2 weeks).
2. Why Do You Sometimes See 3 Weeks on an Invoice?
A calendar year has 52 weeks. However, with our cycle of 24 invoices per year (2 per month), a calculation strictly based on 2 weeks per invoice would only cover 48 weeks.
To avoid a massive and unforeseen adjustment at the end of the year, we have chosen to smooth these 4 missing weeks over the fiscal year. Thus, approximately four times a year, an invoice will exceptionally cover a period of 3 weeks instead of 2.
Concrete Example:
- On an end-of-November invoice, you see 6 units appear for your pallet storage.
- Consult your Detailed Report (the CSV document attached to your invoice email).
- At the top of the first page, you will see that the period covers 3 weeks (for example, weeks 46, 47, and 48).
- The calculation is then: 2 pallets in stock × 3 weeks = 6 units billed.
Where to Find the Details?
Each summary line on your PDF invoice corresponds to a precise record in your Service Report (CSV). This document allows you to verify, week after week, the exact volume of pallets or shelves used by your products.
